Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. Applicants from the USAPI will be prioritized. If you plan to attend the conference as part of a group, please be sure to register for the conference individually.

Cost: There is no fee for this educational conference.

Credit: This educational conference is approved for up to 11 continuing education hours (see below). Certificates will be available approximately 12 weeks after the training.

Target Audience: This educational conference is designed for staff involved in TB Management, Prevention, and Control from each of the USAPI jurisdictions and Hawaii, as well as representatives from various agencies including the Australian Respiratory Council, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Diagnostic Laboratory Services, and World Health Organization. 

Conference Description: This four-day virtual educational conference will provide training and networking opportunities for TB professionals in the Pacific Islands region. The conference is comprised of plenary sessions and breakout sessions with tracks for clinicians, nurses and outreach workers, laboratorians, and program managers.

Virtual Training Format (via Zoom):
Includes lecture, discussion, and case presentations. Short breaks are included in the schedule.

Educational Goals (partial list):

By the end of the educational conference, participants will be able to:

  • Apply the latest advances for assessing risk, testing, and treating latent TB infection to prevent development of disease
  • Utilize current recommendations for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of tuberculosis disease
  • Develop approaches for addressing challenges in the management of paitents with tuberculoisis to achieve successful outcomes
  • Describe strategies for improving TB prevention and control efforts

The Curry International Tuberculosis Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. This training is approved for up to 11 continuing education hours.

The Curry International Tuberculosis Center designates this educational activity for a maximum of 11 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The Curry International Tuberculosis Center is approved as a provider of continuing education by the California State Board of Registered Nurses, Provider Number CEP 12308. This training is approved for up to 11 continuing education hours. Board requirements prevent us from offering CE credit to people who arrive more than 15 minutes after the start of the training, or leave the training early. Therefore, partial credit will not be awarded.

The Curry International Tuberculosis Center is designated as a Tuberculosis Center of Excellence for Training, Education, and Medical Consultation (TB COE) via a funded cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Curry International Tuberculosis Center prioritizes learners from the western region of the United States which consists of seventeen jurisdictions: Alaska, Arizona, California (including Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco), Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and the U.S. Pacific Island Territories.
