The Evolving Landscape of Laboratory Testing for Tuberculosis

Description: This training will provide an overview of exciting diagnostic test options for TB, both new and on the horizon. The training will also discuss future needs and challenges regarding TB diagnostics.

Target Audience: This training is intended for all members of the tuberculosis community, including healthcare professionals, researchers, and advocates. 

Credit: This training is approved for up to 1.00 continuing education hour (see below). Certificates will be available within 8-10 weeks

Cost: There is no fee for this training

Objectives:

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Provide an overview of the current and emerging global TB diagnostics landscape to understand the types, availability, and intended use of TB diagnostic tools worldwide
  • Highlight innovations in testing approaches to prepare learners with knowledge for potential future applications
  • Examine U.S. public health laboratory capacity and CDC-supported services to support appropriate and timely provider utilization for TB care
  • Discuss future needs, challenges, and opportunities in TB diagnostics to optimize rapid diagnosis of TB and reduce disease transmission

Board requirements prevent us from offering CE credit to people who arrive more than 15 minutes after the start of the training, or leave the training early. Therefore, partial credit will not be awarded.
