[virtual training] TB Case Management and Contact Investigation Intensive (CMCI)
This training is part of the Curry Center’s TB Case Management and Contact Investigation Intensive (CMCI) core training, which is designed for tuberculosis case managers and public health nurses who deliver case management services to patients with active or latent TB within the public health setting.
This is an entry-level training for nurses/case managers who are within their first year or two of providing TB case management for patients with active tuberculosis. This training will cover the fundamentals of medical and case management of patients with drug-susceptible tuberculosis. Participants will also apply what they learn to case scenarios to reinforce the concepts.

This training is part of the Curry Center’s TB Case Management and Contact Investigation Intensive (CMCI) core training, which is designed for tuberculosis case managers and public health nurses who deliver case management services to patients with active or latent TB within the public health setting.
This is an entry-level training for nurses/case managers who are within their first year or two of providing TB case management for patients with active tuberculosis. This training will cover the fundamentals of how to determine whether adequate treatment completion has been achieved for drug-susceptible pulmonary TB, and strategies for addressing potential barriers to treatment adherence. Participants will also apply what they learn in large group activities to reinforce the concepts.

Taking side effects seriously - an interactive and evidence-based webinar series will highlight various TB treatment-associated adverse effects and provide management strategies to effectively reduce barriers to treatment completion and support both patients and clinicians. This first session will cover the risks, impacts, and management of TB treatment-associated nausea and vomiting. Data and expertise from other medical fields, including cancer chemotherapy and post-operative care, will be included to provide insights into how to improve care for patients with TB. This training is intended for physicians, nurses, and other licensed medical and public health professionals who provide care to patients in treatment for LTBI and active TB.

The 3-session Training Series for TB Epidemiologists is jointly provided by the Curry International Tuberculosis Center and the Rutgers Global Tuberculosis Institute in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Session 1 will provide an introduction to the practice of TB Epidemiology for new TB epidemiologists. The training will introduce key concepts, terms, and resources TB epidemiologists use in their daily work. An overview of the National Tuberculosis Indicators Project (NTIP) will be covered, connecting the TB epidemiologist’s role to NTIP and demonstrating the critical role TB epidemiologists play in the broader TB program. This introductory training is designed for entry-level and intermediate TB epidemiologists, as well as experienced public health epidemiologists who are new to the TB field, seeking to build their knowledge and strengthen their skills in TB epidemiology.

Approaches to common challenges will be discussed by select jurisdictions. This introductory training is designed for entry-level and intermediate TB epidemiologists, as well as experienced public health epidemiologists who are new to the TB field, seeking to build their knowledge and strengthen their skills in TB epidemiology.
